On 13th July 2021, I found myself seated in a consulting room of a mental health facility. A gentleman in his mid-twenties was rushed inside in handcuffs, flanked on either side by police officers. As curious as I was, I wanted to know why such a well-dressed gentleman was in police custody. A slow eye scan at him made me notice he had a swollen left eyeball and a bruised right wrist. Just when I motioned them to have a seat, an elderly woman with tears in her eyes inquired if she could join the interview. She later introduced herself as the mother of the client.
